Professor Mustafa Özgüroğlu is Professor of Medical Oncology in the Clinical Trial Unit and in the Division of Medical Oncology at the Department of Internal Medicine, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Istanbul, Turkey.
Professor Özgüroğlu’s areas of expertise include lung and genitourinary cancers.
His current research focuses predominantly on clinical trials of therapeutics for cancers primarily focusing on Lung and GU cancers.
Professor Özgüroğlu has been the principal investigator for numerous clinical trials and has been a contributing author for numerous articles published in renowned peer-reviewed journals, including landmark publications that have substantially changed the treatment paradigms for prostate cancer (TROPIC, LATITUDE, TITAN, PROFOUND), bladder cancer(IMVIGOR 130, KEYNOTE361), and lung cancer (PACIFIC, IMPOWER 110, EMPOWER LUNG 1).
He has approximately 385 publications and 14700 citations (WOS), with an h-index of 36.
Professor Özgüroğlu’s expertise is sought internationally;
- He is a steering committee member for many international clinical trials
- He is also serving in the global advisory boards in Lung and GU cancers
- an ESMO Faculty Member for Genitourinary Cancers, and
- Most recently served as a Scientific Committee Member for Genitourinary Cancers for ESMO Congress 2021(Paris).
